Brief description of the order
The work concerns the control and testing of the permanent safety works of the phosphogypsum landfill located close to the Gela (CL) refinery in Piana del Signore and owned by ISAF SpA in liquidation. Specifically, the object of the work was the testing of the landfill capping, for an extension of 50 hectares; the remediation work was carried out in 2012 and is among the most important in Europe. The operations of 2013/2014 concerned the geo-electric tests relating to the correct execution of the capping and the construction of an intermediate separation embankment in tank 4, still not capped.
